This is what I made out of my handmade classical tutu skirt, so this costume is completely designed and handmade my me.

The bodice is made of black brocade, and features several silver thread and sequins appliques. The low neckline in the middle (the apparently nude triangle) is nude mesh and the straps are wide and strong nude elastics. The bodice closes at the back with hooks and eyes and is attached to the ornated overskirt. This one is ornated following the same style, so the appliques are distributed over a black tulle layer (this one melts perfectly with the net underneath so it's not obvious when seen from the distance) making a kind of sparkly circle over the skirt.

The bodice and overskirt set is dettachable (it's fixed to the plate with strong snap buttons, and the overskirt is lightly quilted to the net underneath so it doesn't move while dancing) so the plate can be recycled for another costume.
